Abstract

This article examines the role, opportunities, and risks of GPT, a product of artificial intelligence, in modern language education. The author argues that the rational use of GPT can prevent threats such as intellectual laziness, plagiarism, and idea appropriation. The article also discusses the potential negative consequences of relying on ChatGPT for academic essay writing, a form of assessing students’ creative thinking, and provides recommendations to mitigate these risks.
