The article examines the significance of culturonyms in the process of teaching and learning Italian as a foreign language. Culturonyms, which encompass culture-specific vocabulary, idioms, and national realities, serve as a bridge between linguistic competence and cultural awareness. The study analyzes how integrating cultural elements into the curriculum enhances students' communicative skills and prevents intercultural misunderstandings. By examining specific Italian realia related to lifestyle, art, and traditions, the paper demonstrates that language acquisition is inseparable from cultural context.
