Аннотация

The rapid development of globalization, digital technologies, and intercultural communication has significantly influenced contemporary languages, especially media discourse. One of the most noticeable linguistic phenomena in modern French is the increasing use of English borrowings, commonly known as anglicisms. These lexical units are widely used in French newspapers, television, advertising, and digital media platforms. The present study investigates the lexical, stylistic, and communicative functions of anglicisms in contemporary French media discourse. The research aims to identify the most common spheres of anglicism usage and analyze their role in modern communication. The study is based on empirical analysis of examples collected from French online newspapers and media platforms. The findings demonstrate that anglicisms are especially common in technology, fashion, business, and social media communication, where they contribute to brevity, modernity, and expressiveness in discourse. The article also highlights the influence of globalization and digital culture on the transformation of the French lexical system. The research confirms that anglicisms have become an integral part of contemporary French media language and continue to shape linguistic and cultural communication processes [Weinreich, 1953: 56].
