Аннотация

The present article examines the etymological analysis and historical roots of Turkisms in the Italian language. The study investigates the linguistic and cultural interaction between the Italian states and the Ottoman Empire from the fifteenth to the nineteenth century. Special attention is devoted to the historical circumstances that facilitated lexical borrowing through trade, diplomacy, military relations, and cultural exchange in the Mediterranean region. The article analyzes several Turkish-origin words that became integrated into Italian vocabulary, including terms related to gastronomy, administration, furniture, military terminology, and everyday life. Through historical and etymological analysis, the study demonstrates that Turkish linguistic influence on Italian reflects broader intercultural communication between East and West.
